Food - The Art of Eating Well

Most of our food is home cooked by which we mean it is cooked on the premises. We don't buy it in ready prepared and heat it up in a microwave.

It takes a little longer and requires a skilled hand but hopefully it has more flavour and character.

Beer

We have our own brand beer - James Fellows' Legacy. It is named after James Fellows, the man who started it all in 1837.

In addition we usually have another 7-8 traditional ales on tap. Regular's include Nottingham Brewery, Mallards, London Pride, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Sharpe's Doombar, Black Sheep, St Austell's, Otter Ale, York Guzzler, Caythorpe Brewery, Adnams.

We also have Guinness, John Smith's Extra Smooth, Fosters, Kronenbourg and Stella for those who like that sort of thing.

Ciders

On draft we have Stowford Press and Strongbow. In bottles we stock Bulmers Original, Bulmers Pear, Magners Original, Magners Pear, Weston's Old Rosie, Weston's Organic, Recorderlig - Wild Berry and Strawberry and Lime, Stella Cidre and .. er .... Diamond White.

Whisky

There is usually a selection or around a dozen single malts, all under 3 quid a shot.

Soft Drinks

Our soft drinks range includes Crabbies Non-Alcoholic Ginger Beer, a range of Belvoir Fruit Farms Pressés and Appletiser

We also do J2O, Pepsi and Lemonade for the unadventurous.

Pork Scratchings (sometimes homemade and sometimes in a variety of flavours eg Cajun, Curry)

Pipers Crisps - Handmade in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Ready Salted, Indian Black Pepper, Norfolk Bloody Mary, Cheese and Onion, Salt and Vinegar, Biggleswade Sweet Chilli.

Camra Discount

20p off a pint of cask ale with each Camra card. That means if you have a card and you buy a pint you get 20p off. If you buy 2 pints and you have a card you get 20p off. If you have 2 cards and you buy 2 pints

you get 40p off. We hope that is clear.

Food Availability.

Occasionally, and particularly just before Christmas, we are fully booked for food. If this happens we have to temporarily suspend our food service for anyone who has not pre-booked.

Priority is always given to pre-booked tables. We apologise for any inconvenience.

LIVE SPORT

We have a giant plasma screen, a huge projector screen and other TV's dotted around so whatever your sport you'll not miss a kick, strike, stroke, try or shot.

We show all the major football games such as England, Champions League, Premier League, Domestic Cups and so on.

We are also here for the Rugby 6 Nations, Golf Majors, the cricket and any other event that you'll be interested in. If you fancy some food as well give us a call and tell us what you want. You can order from our bar menu or ask for somerthing special just for you e.g. platters to share.
